Program Overview

Upon entry to West Central, each resident will be assigned a counselor. Various assessments will be completed to determine individual needs. The residents' needs will determine in which programs they participate. The program will provide education and treatment groups to assist the residents in replacing their negative/criminal thinking with positive/pro-social thinking. Some residents will attend more groups than others based on their individual risk for re-offending and overall needs. The program incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) groups, individual sessions, structured activities, educational/employment opportunities, and vocational training.
